40lb off by July- Slim Fast?

I’m getting married in July and I’m the heaviest I’ve ever been. :ring:

I’d like to lose between two and two and a half stone by the end of July. I don’t know if that’s realistic.

I have real problems with calorie counting. I’ve downloaded MFP and started SlimFast—I figure this could work well as I can just scan barcodes for two meals out of three per day and know exactly what I’ve eaten. :iphone:

I struggle with portion control and making good choices, so having no choice for breakfast and lunch might work for me. :plate_with_cutlery:

Has SlimFast worked/not worked for anyone else? I’ve seen people tutting about it on other threads because of the sugar content, but I’d like to hear from people who actually tried it. :raising_hand_woman:

Losing 40 pounds in 6 months equates to 1.5 pounds every week. This is not difficult, but it will require tremendous attention.

A pound of fat has 3500 calories, or kcal. To shed one pound of fat, eat 3500 kcal fewer than your body requires.

Since you need to shed 1.5 pounds per week, you must consume 5250kcal less per week, or 750kcal fewer per day.

I hear you ask, “750kcal less than what?” Your TDEE. To calculate your TDEE, go here and enter your statistics. It will tell you how many kcal your body requires per day, and if you eat 750 kcal less each day, you will lose weight.
