This is my first post here, and I want to say that I truly appreciate this community and the support you all provide to strangers.
Around two months ago, I found out I weighed 185lb (19W), which is 30lbs more than my weight at the start of my freshman year of college in 2020. This was the most I have ever weighed, and it all happened within just a few months.
When reflecting on what went wrong, I realized that since the start of school, I began smoking weed every day with my roommates or my new significant other. After these smoking sessions, I would binge on all kinds of food, whether it was tasty or not, that was available in my dorm.
Has anyone else experienced significant weight gain due to smoking?
Yeah, it’s pretty common to gain weight from smoking weed. It can increase your appetite and lead to those binge-eating sessions you mentioned. Plus, the “munchies” often make it harder to stick to healthier eating habits. If you’re looking to manage your weight, you might want to consider tracking what you eat and finding other ways to handle cravings.
No, I have never heard of anyone gaining weight from weed but, there is some evidence linking cannabis use to lower body weight, but again it is complicated.
