Are bagels actually that bad?

I’m happy. So for breakfast, I usually eat eggs and turkey bacon, but about three times a week, I have a bagel with peanut butter, chia seeds, hemp seeds, and sliced banana on top. The full bagel contains 190 calories and is made entirely of healthy grains. I still eat eggs with it, but sometimes it’s a bagel with 1 or 2 eggs, or a bagel with 2 slices of turkey bacon and no bagel. I sometimes eat half.

I was advised that I am losing weight quickly now because I am larger, but that if I am smaller, bagels will prevent me from dropping weight. Or will they cause me to regain it? These people were sure that bagels would ruin my diet and cause me to regain weight.
Are bagels really that horrible a food? I don’t mind cutting them out, but I was a little irritated in a manner because they’re telling me I’ll regain all of my weight, if not more, which is not the perspective I share with them.

Like, it’s about calorie shortage, right? I’m not sure how eating a bagel would cause me to get obese again.

My spouse shed 50 pounds and is a big fan of bagels.

Maintaining a Calories In < Calories Out ratio will help you lose weight, regardless of your eating choices.

Bagels are high in calories, so keep them smaller, rarer, or both to be able to enjoy them on a regular basis.

In my opinion, moderation is always the key. To me, half a bagel with chia seeds, peanut butter, and eggs constitutes a well-balanced lunch. The problem is that individuals eat a whole bagel with cream cheese for morning, a deli sandwich for lunch, and pasta with chicken for dinner. There is no equilibrium. You are certainly on the correct track. Continue what you’re doing! We’re all trying to remain strong. Ignore persons who make “if… then” comments to you.

Before making a purchase, check the calorie count. Some bagels, such as Thomas, are larger than others. Some of the ones at Panera have a lot more.

The crème cheese, peanut butter, and other toppings you utilise do the most of the damage.

Bagels are quite good. You will have to cut your overall calorie consumption as you lose weight since your smaller body requires less calories, but you can still eat bagels if you want to. You may need to make other changes to keep your overall calorie intake in check, but eating bagels is fine.

Bagels include empty calories, although they are no worse than other empty calories. If you’re in a deficit, you can lose weight eating anything.

You are correct, and they are incorrect. Bagels receive a poor rap, in my opinion, since people substituted them for sandwich bread. That’s around 100 additional calories. It makes no difference how exact your numbers are.
