Does a footlong sub from subway really only amount to ~1000 calories?

Hello friends I had a big sandwich with rotisserie chicken, cheese, veggies, and sauce on whole wheat bread. Surprisingly, it is only 810 calories. I found this out by checking a couple of nutrition guides and apps. However, I am skeptical because it seems like a lot of food for so few calories, especially considering the amount of bread. I decided to play it safe and added 10% more calories in my calorie tracker app just in case. Also, the small bag of chips I had with it added another 200 calories. What do you think? Do you think it is unusual, or could apps like MyFitnessPal be consistently underestimating the calories in homemade food?

Sounds delicious! While not very high, 810 calories are still manageable. MFP may undervalue home-cooked meals. For precision, weighing ingredients works best. It made sense to add extra calories!

Remember, the sauce has about 300 calories. They don’t count sauces because the amount can vary. For example, one tablespoon of mayonnaise has around 130 calories. So, keep this in mind.
