How do individuals simply forget to eat?

I’ve heard a few folks say they forget to eat, which I don’t understand; maybe if you don’t have an appetite? But dunno.

People have busy jobs, thus this happens.

Focus on your own trip.

I get engrossed and forget to eat while reading a good book or watching television. I started eating at specific times of the day because I am not constantly hungry. Sometimes I can feel I’m hungry, and other times my body doesn’t give me any cues to eat.

I have hyperfocus. It’s an autism/ADHD thing. Getting so caught up in a task that you forget about everything else.

I used to think about eating all the time. It turns out that it’s a common symptom of malnutrition, and in today’s world, many adults have vitamin deficiencies that can make you feel hungry. I had EPI, so I became ill enough for doctors to help, but now that I no longer have deficits, I constantly forget to eat. Frequently skips breakfast and dinner.

Because they do not obsess on eating; it is simply fuel or a pleasant experience for them. They might also have a low appetite.

It makes you recognise that the majority of us have terrible associations with eating. There’s nothing wrong with being hungry, but what if you can’t stop thinking about food? That is horrible.

If you’re busy all day and have a lot going on, food isn’t the only item on your mind. It’s boredom.

From my perspective, it is a reaction to stress. When I lost my soulmate, I couldn’t swallow anything except liquids for two weeks. Two weeks is enough time to start a new hobby. I got it–not eating. I was not hungry at all. When my starved body cried out for sustenance, it received some. Three times every week, use a couple of spoons. I ended up going to therapy simply to eat every day.

People neglect to eat for a variety of reasons. You could simply be too busy to remember to eat every now and then. This is typical; if it occurs, establish a phone reminder or plan your weekly meals on Saturdays or Sundays.

If you don’t think you’re forgetting because of a hectic schedule, you might be forgetting due to stress. Consider keeping a journal or simply pausing throughout the day to assess how you’re feeling. High levels of worry or despair might cause a loss of appetite. If you believe you have anxiety or depression and that it is too much for you to handle alone, speak with a close friend or a trusted counselor about it. They can help you navigate any underlying issues that may be leading to a lack of hunger.

Anxiety!? Stress!? Mourning!?

It’s like a rabbit in the headlights! The baby-deer effect!

Your body slowly enters a state of nervous shock.

I noticed this when I kept waking up in the middle of the night to get a drink from the tap but didn’t feel like I had drunk, since I hadn’t.

My body went through the motions, but I didn’t drink anything.

Your mind is so much!

Are you too caught up in a work plan and a train of thought? Perhaps you should develop a daily schedule to take a break, which will remind you to eat.

There could be a communication issue between your brain and your body. After all, our brain informs us how we feel. If you never feel hungry and so forget to eat, this is a more significant issue that should be discussed with a doctor.

Do you consume a lot of junk in between meals, filling your tummy and making you forget to eat the main course? You have to train your mind to shun junk food.
Do you find your normal meals boring or unappealing, and do you use neglecting to eat as a coping mechanism? You must work hard to learn and investigate the type of food you wish to eat.

Hello, how could someone forget to eat? I rarely forget to consume meals. If I have to remember, I believe it has happened once or twice, and it occurs when I am extremely anxious or joyful. It always happens when my emotions are at their most intense.

It could be indicative of depression.

If you are extremely busy, lunch may be a lower priority (than whatever you are doing).

If you go without eating because it slips your mind, maybe it’s time to go deeper.

Unintentional fasting is indicative of an eating disorder. People choose to assume they are too busy to eat rather than admitting they have a food problem.

Depressive symptoms are linked to under or overeating.

If a person is stressed, excited, or weary, their body will react differently. The adrenaline reaction, sometimes known as fight or flight, most commonly suppresses appetite. This can also occur when a person is excited and motivated to complete a task. This is a more dopamine-based response. Depending on whatever side of the coin you are on, you will feel less hungry or more driven.
