I checked on MyFitnessPal and searched for Japanese steakhouse - hibachi chicken, rice, and veggies (since we only have small Japanese places around here and no big chains), and it’s showing 523 - 550 calories per serving. Does that seem accurate? I thought it would be much higher. My 15-year-old son wants Japanese food. I’m trying to decide if I can eat some with him or if I should get him takeout and then cook something different for myself at home. Thanks in advance for any advice on this. I know it’ll be high in sodium, so water weight might be expected, but I’m really aiming to stay within 800-1,000 calories for dinner since I’ve been fasting pretty much all day just in case.

It’s not the same every time. How much of each thing do you mean? How much oil are we talking about?
i went to a japaneses restaurant and was served but was told this standard portion of grilled or baked hibachi chicken breast may contain between 200-300 calories. However, if the chicken is fried or prepared with ample oil or sauce, its calorie content could be closer to 400-500 calories.
