I was thinking, since I hardly ever eat the crust, how many calories would that save? Does anyone know? I usually have thin European-style Italian pizzas without any extra stuff in the crust. The main calories come from the toppings, the fat, and the dough. The total calories depend on how big the pizza is.
Just to be clear, I’m not asking because I can’t have pizza once in a while, or because I’m trying to sneak more fast food into my diet haha. I’m just curious about the calorie difference it might make.
Since the crust adds calories to the meal, skipping the crust on a thin Italian pizza prepared in the European way may help cut calories. But precise savings depend on the size and thickness of the crust. Rather than just reducing calories, concentrate on eating a balanced diet. Eat pizza in moderation while keeping your particular preferences and nutritional value in mind.
