I cut processed sugar and nothing happened

Hi,

I 20F recently eliminated the majority of refined sugar from my diet. I’m on Accutane, and my doctor advised me to minimise my sugar intake. I did this: no more cookies, chocolate, candy, or sweet coffees.

I sweeten my coffees with stevia and give myself one sweet activia yoghurt and one fruit each day (normal amount).

I did not adjust the amount of food I eat (2 meals per day (no morning or coffee) consisting of 100g white Japanese rice, miso soup, 1 egg, natto, and some vegetables such as spinach).

I did not gain any weight, nor did I lose any. Despite the fact that my cholesterol and triglicerid levels have decreased. I feel like I’m developing a double chin, but I not sure.

I walk 10k steps a day.

Is there something wrong with me?

Cutting away sugar will have no effect on your weight if you are not in a calorie deficit. If you are not losing weight, you do not have a deficit.

Unfortunately, you will hear many unsatisfactory responses about calorie shortfall. That’ll be your answer. Eating less will be part of the equation indefinitely.

You must be in a calorie deficit. It is that simple.

Cut food in general if you’re still overeating.

If you consume more energy than you expend, you will not lose weight. What you eat has no bearing on weight loss. You eat well for nutrition and wellness. For weight loss, it makes no difference.

Aim to consume three meals per day that include lean protein, complex carbohydrates, and healthy fats. You can’t go wrong with additional low-energy carbs (veggies) on your plate/bowl. Breakfast (or the first meal of the day) should be consumed within an hour after waking to stimulate your metabolism. And then keep your metabolism “stoked” by eating smaller, more frequent meals throughout the day. Surprisingly, eating more clean meals throughout the day increases the body’s fat-burning power/energy.

Cutting out processed sugar is an excellent place to start! Sometimes outcomes take time. Focus on your entire diet, and consider adding more protein or vegetables. Strength training can also assist tone the body. Patience and constancy are crucial. Keep going; you’re doing great!

Your body is considerably healthier without sugar, so even if the figure remains constant, you have improved your health. And that’s significant!

Many foods, including rice, contain sugar that you are unaware of. Do some serious research on “hidden sugar”. You are doing an excellent job! Do not feel guilty! It also takes time for the body to adjust to changes.

People are commenting about the calorie deficit, although the two lunches per day do not appear to be that caloric. Is 100 grammes of rice measured cooked or uncooked? Cooked: 120 calories; uncooked: 350 calories.

Fruit and carbohydrates, including noodles and grains, are equal to sugar. Stick to low carb foods, such as berries.
