I’ve been going through this for two years and a half. At first, I was doing great, losing weight and all that shit, but then I started giving up and pushing what I had lost back into my ass. All the advise I’m receiving is… guess what? Eat less. God, how did I not think of that? I’m losing my fucking sanity (if I had any) and am gradually becoming suicidal.
Many factors influence one’s capacity to lose weight, including hormones. Years of yo-yo dieting can have a significant impact on your metabolism, and we must nurture it back into a fuel-burning powerhouse. Give yourself grace and listen to what your body is telling you. You’ve got this!
Stop dieting and seek treatment or talk to someone. Do not do anything rash.
Concentrate on acceptance and letting your body to exist. Also, recognise that the body does what it needs to do; instead of forcing it to accomplish something, you should comprehend what it requires. The key to losing weight is to strike the right balance. A calorie deficit is essential, but having breaks and refeed days are also necessary to prevent your body from adapting to the current deficit. It’s critical to embrace your body and not conform to what other people do. Make this your personal journey and start appreciating yourself for who you are. Learn to understand your body’s needs. Communication is essential.
The rage you’re feeling is a strong indication that you truly want this, so you can do it. I’ve had this similar emotion, but I’ve also lost weight; it took me 5 years to get to this point of 82kg; I weighed 102 when I started, and I want to get down to around 70-75. So I’m still on my path, but believe in yourself; it is possible; people who are lot less capable than you have accomplished it, so why shouldn’t you be able to? It will never be easy, but if it was easy, it wouldn’t be worth anything.
This post declares, “I have other issues going on.” Is there any chance you could talk to someone or go to therapy? You can discover more about what you require than simply lowering calories.
It’s difficult to give up fat ass portions in America’s gluttonous culture. Try eating by volume. It’s a terrific way to switch to healthier portions.
Do not focus on eating less at first. Simply try eating healthier for a month or two: less sugar/carbs, more protein, fibre, and good fats. Basically, indulge in, what, four servings of fish? - “real food” rather than a single serving of pasta or a chocolate bar. Then, begin a calorie deficit and practice cardio, but don’t focus solely on calories; instead, consider what is genuinely good for your body. By the way, two and a half years is nothing; you’re probably simply young. Trust me, there are SO many people who have been on the weight loss road for more than 5 years, losing and then regaining weight, so don’t be so hard on yourself.
I’ve discovered that tracking my calories makes it the simplest to “eat less,” but it’s all bad. I get you.
It’s really hard!! I’m sorry you’re struggling with this. Please never give up on yourself. Who you are as a person is unrelated to the number on the scale. Cutting out processed meals helped me with cravings, so give it a shot. Also, try to focus on self-care rather than weight loss. I started walking for a few minutes every day to clear my mind, and it also helped me lose weight.
Is eating your only coping mechanism? If that’s the case, you should address it first. You can’t simply abandon your lone coping technique with nothing to replace it.
Try something new. Your current strategy has worn out and is no longer beneficial to you. Figure out why. Learn from it. Most people who quit smoking require at least five attempts and must try something new each time. The same notion applies here.
It’s not about eating less; it’s about being more selective about what you eat. I eat a lot, but it’s all low-calorie ground chicken, ground turkey, and incredibly slim beef.
If you want to reduce weight, you should eat less. It’s up to you how you get there–willpower, surgery, drugs, etc.–but it’s a harsh reality anyway.
However, you are not required to do anything you do not like to do. It is your life and body.
