Nicotine for Weight Loss?

:zap: Smoking cigarettes is unhealthy. I would advise against smoking, and if you are at all tempted, stop reading this post.

I’m reaching out to hear from others in the community who have taken a similar approach to mine. Earlier this year, after researching the potential benefits of nicotine for weight control, I decided to try smoking and vaping. Despite trying various diets, calorie counting, and battling eating disorders like bulimia, nothing seemed to work or stick for me.

According to research from sources like the US NIH, nicotine can suppress appetite and increase resting metabolic rate, which appealed to me as I struggled with weight loss. Reports from RAND Corporation, WebMD, and other reputable sources even suggested that smoking might be less harmful than obesity.

Since starting this approach, I’ve noticed a significant change in my behavior. Instead of mindlessly raiding the fridge or snacking while sitting at my desk, I’ve replaced these habits with vaping. It’s become almost automatic for me to reach for my vape instead of food.

The results have been striking. In just a few months, I’ve gone from 300 lbs in mid-April to 260 lbs by early September. While I acknowledge the health risks involved, this method has been the most effective for me.

I’m particularly interested in hearing from those who have tried a similar approach. Did you stop once you reached your goal weight? If so, did you experience weight regain afterward? If not, I’d appreciate hearing about your experience and reasons for continuing.

You have switched from one addiction (sugar) to another. The problem is not in your food or your lungs; it is in your thinking. First, resolve that issue.

I kept reading your weight in pounds and thought, “That can’t be right!” Then I saw it was in kilograms, and it made much more sense. :joy: Great job!
