My mother is a pain specialist who was originally an anesthesiologist. She knew a surgeon who performed those gastric band procedures when she worked in anesthesia. She then explained to me how individuals whose BMI was too high would be placed on a Slimfast regimen until they reached the desired weight loss. After hearing this, I’m beginning to believe that slimfast would be a very effective weight-loss plan for me.
How did those of you who have completed Slimfast find it to be effective? Was the diet rather simple? How quickly do you think 25 pounds would drop off?
I found that while the SlimFast app and website are free, the cost of their meal replacement products is a significant expense. The 14-day starter kits, priced between $79.99 and $96.99, include shakes, smoothie powder, and bars. They also offer a “Together” starter kit for $169.99 to $234.99, which can be shared with a friend or partner. After finishing the starter kit, you need to keep buying SlimFast products until you achieve your goal weight. For me, this ongoing cost has been a major financial setback, making it challenging to stick with the program.
Slimfast contains a lot of sugar, and when my sugar levels get high, I am extremely hungry and exhausted a few hours later. Also, if you get migraines (like I do), some of the symptoms can trigger them.
For roughly 200 calories, I can eat two eggs, a piece of whole grain toast, and tomato slices for breakfast, which seems like a lot more satisfying meal to me.
