I frequently wind up bingeing. I eat but never feel satisfied. After eating a nutritious and protein-rich breakfast, I still feel the want to eat more and spend the rest of the day eating without feeling full. Is it possible to suppress this? I’m not concerned about my weight, but rather my overall health, such as cholesterol, because I normally reach for food high in fat, carbs, and sugar
Here are three choices! One is a food, one a flavour, and one a beverage.
Apples. These are high in fibre and water, and will keep you full for several hours.
Mint. When you chew mint gum, do you think about food? Probably not.
Water. Water fills you up by hydrating and filling your stomach. Simply avoid flavoured waters, as they frequently include sugar, artificial tastes, and preservatives.
Potato is the most hunger-satiating food available.
You can eat one medium potato with salt and pepper and no oil and yet feel full, fulfil several nutrient requirements, and not gain weight.
A man dropped a lot of weight after eating nothing but potatoes (of several sorts) for a year! Medically, he was fine with no deficiencies. This is extreme, but it should put you at ease about potatoes’ health benefits and ability to help you lose weight.
Starch is the food that lets your body know you’re full. It fills your stomach, and the stretching mechanism, not hormones, is what truly indicates “fullness”. So I challenge you to give it a chance. Feed your body and feel full.
You can eat anything to satiate your appetite.
Do you wish to consume low-calorie meals?
I recommend raw carrots, broccoli, and celery sticks.
When I worked in a banquet kitchen, we would delegate the task of cutting up carrots, celery, and citrus fruits so that we didn’t end up munching on fatty foods all day. It was an excellent idea.
The good news is that no matter how much you eat, it will not damage your diet. You will consume a lot of fibre, vitamins, and garbage.
Zinc-containing lozenges. Place one in your mouth before falling asleep. You’ll wake up with a zinc layer on your taste senses. Nothing will have any flavour. You will eat a lot less food if it is bland.
Drinking water is usually a wonderful alternative to other beverages. I realise it’s not the best beverage option, but it pays off in the long run. Here’s a small secret for eating less: drink a full glass of water before each meal. Why, you ask? It confuses both your mind and your stomach, making you feel full when you are not. Many problems in this country stem from the consumption of unhealthy meals and sugary beverages (such as sodas). My website focusses on healthy living and offers a wealth of ‘FREE’ information on ‘Green Natural’ diets and nutrition.
Protein-rich foods can help you control your hunger to a degree. If you also cut back on sugar, fructose, lactose, and other sweeteners, you will notice that your cravings gradually disappear. A diet strong in meat and vegetables is the most effective method to stay fit and full.
Raw fennel. When I eat some of this strange and aromatic vegetable, it completely destroys the flavour of everything that follows. I believe it has a comparable calorie content to celery. The majority of my calories are probably ingested for culinary enjoyment rather than to satisfy true hunger, therefore this has worked quite well for me the few times I’ve eaten it. Discovered by accident.
The only method to suppress your appetite is to dramatically reduce all carbs, especially those “healthy high fibre low fat” carbs, and replace around 70% of your calories with healthy, natural fats. Protein should account for 30 percent. This will eventually put you into ketosis, which helps manage your hunger.
In comparison, consuming refined carbs and, for many of us, those “healthy high-fiber low-fat COMPLEX” carbs increases the urge for more, more, and more!!!
There are no specific foods that can reduce the appetite.
I prefer a large bowl of lettuce seasoned with lemon juice and pepper, accompanied by a glass or bottle of water. It’s also wonderful to add shredded apples or carrots. If you prefer a more substantial snack, no-fat cottage cheese with a few walnuts, a hard-boiled egg, or 6-8 ounces of skim milk (lactose-free, such as “Fairlife”) are all fine options, always with water.
Have something fiber-rich. Like muesli… It is high in soluble fibre, provides a long-lasting feeling of fullness, and is low in calories, which can help you lose weight while suppressing your appetite.
