What’s a good calorie counting app that doesn’t cost anything?
I recently reinstalled MyFitnessPal because I liked how simple it was to scan food items. But now they’re asking for a subscription fee for features that were previously free.
I managed to lose 6 pounds by switching to salads for lunch and cutting down on portion sizes. But I still have a ways to go, and I know I’ll need to track calories eventually. I don’t own a food scale, but I usually eat prepackaged salads or protein shakes with barcodes, which should make scanning easy.
Also, what’s your take on eating back calories burned through exercise? I’ve heard you can’t out exercise a bad diet.
I stick with Cronometer. It’s been my go-to, and I’ve never felt the need to try anything else. Plus, it’s got a barcode scanner and lets you create recipes for free.
These calorie counting apps offer various features and functionalities, so you may want to try a few to see which one best fits your preferences and needs. Always remember to consult with a healthcare professional or registered dietitian for personalized guidance on nutrition and health goals.
for me I use “Lose It!” because it’s free and includes all my favorite features that used to be free on MFP. With it, I can create recipes, scan barcodes, and more. I highly recommend Lose It! The way it divides up calories per meal has been incredibly helpful.
Use lose it… I recently started using Lose It! after MyFitnessPal began charging for features that were previously free. I was pleasantly surprised by how intuitive and easy it was to use. The barcode scanner works seamlessly, allowing me to quickly log my prepackaged salads and protein shakes. The app provides detailed nutritional information, which helps me stay on track with my goals. Additionally, it has various community features and challenges that keep me motivated. Overall, Lose It! has been an excellent, cost-free alternative that hasn’t disappointed me.
