Does metformin cause weight loss?

I found two medicines that might help people who struggle to lose weight even with a low-calorie diet. One is called Contrave, but I’m worried because some reviews mention seizures as a side effect. Contrave seems good for people with food addictions. The other medicine is Metformin, which seems better for people with insulin resistance (I think I have symptoms of this) and women with PCOS. Metformin helps control the amount of sugar in your blood, which can make it hard to lose weight if it’s too high. Has anyone tried these medicines? I’m leaning towards trying Metformin.

Metformin works great. You will actually lose weight.
However, you will experience diarrhea. Lots of diarrhea

A combination of naltrexone and bupropion, is praised for helping people manage food cravings and addictions, but indeed, some users report serious side effects like seizures.
