I’ve always appeared more mature than my actual age, but turning 18 and being mistaken for university personnel or chaperones has really sapped my confidence.
Always active, all I need to focus on is my nutrition, yet I’m convinced that my curvy/full body makes me appear older. Perhaps it’s also effecting how my face appears? My style has always been more preppy/modest (and that is what I feel most comfortable in, therefore I have no plans to change!).
I’m 5’3", 163 pounds (although no one ever guesses my weight when I play sports). I look 145–155.
My question is, when you dropped weight, did you look younger?
In my instance, folks around me noticed on how much younger I looked after only losing 7-8 kg. I believe that is primarily due to the change in fat content beneath the face.
This is how I appeared five years ago when I weighed 84 kilogrammes.
Yoga movements squeeze and stretch different portions of your body, shutting off blood flow and then allowing a flood of fresh blood to rush to the affected area after the posture is released. This helps tone your entire body. Meditation is a common practice among yoga practitioners. According to scientific journals, brain scans of those who mediate differ significantly from those who do not. Yogis are more conscious and at peace, which translates to more relaxed muscles throughout the body, including the face, resulting in a more youthful appearance.
It has to do with our beliefs about how body type correlates with age. Teenagers have higher human growth hormone, which leads to increased lean muscle mass. We link that physical type with youth. Losing weight does not necessarily result in a younger appearance, however.
Most people who lose weight lose a combination of fat and muscle, which can make them appear gaunt, sagging, older, fatigued, or aged.
The image of a person who successfully carried out a well-planned fat loss and muscle building program appears distinct. There is nothing emaciated about that appearance. The new wrinkles may reveal more of the facial features, but the body presents a more lively, healthier, and attractive appearance. A smaller waistline, a thinner midsection, improved posture and standing, a more cheerful mood, and a firmer hand grasp are all visible.
Tip: Losing weight is not an effective method for physique change. The most effective and healthy technique is to lose fat while increasing muscle.
It’s possible. But I recently saw a guy I met in May who began ozempic injections in June. He looks dreadful, as if he’s aged 15 years in 3-4 months, with a scruffy withered neck, a grey beard, and a pale complexion despite the fact that he spent all of his free time this summer boating.
Much is determined by an individual’s genetics, food, and stress levels.
It does not harm! Many people gain weight as they become older, making it more difficult to maintain an attractive appearance. I have a photograph of my mother with her high school graduation class during their 25th reunion. She worked hard to stay slender when others did not, and she appeared much younger and more appealing.
Other elements that contribute to looking younger (or more attractive) include genetics, bone structure, teeth, wrinkles, hair (lack of/style), grooming, clothing choice, and so on.
However, an optimistic mindset, forward thinking, and continued learning are likely to keep us young.
According to one study, losing weight can make you appear older since it accelerates the ageing process. This year, many people have used the time they have available to reduce the little weight they gained during the lockdown. However, a recent study has found that decreasing weight can hasten the ageing process, making you appear older. When someone loses weight in the face, their volume decreases, making them appear older. As a result, losing weight and looking older is often healthier than being overweight and seeming younger in the face. Unfortunately, weight loss, particularly when it appears on the face, accelerates the ageing process.
Usually, to some extent. However, the method of weight loss may differ. If done through exercise and a healthy diet, a person will not only appear fitter, but will also be more likely to wear more flattering clothes that complements their figure. Overall, together with a somewhat healthy diet, weight loss frequently yields favourable outcomes and a far more appealing appearance.
It doesn’t really important how you appear to others. Others will always have something terrible to say about you, whether you are tall or short, slim or fat, healthy or unhealthy, and regardless of how you dress or what hairdo you wear.
What truly matters is how you feel about yourself, and when you were overweight and shed a significant amount of weight, you typically felt healthier, more mobile, and hence younger.
Speaking from personal experience, I lost 20kg/44 pounds in 10 months and now feel lot better, but I did it for me. Not to make myself appear younger and healthier to others.
Hello. I cannot guarantee that decreasing weight in your particular condition will make you appear older, but I can ensure you that it will help you be healthy and will be worthwhile.
Most likely, you would only have loose skin if you lost a significant amount of weight quickly. The idea is to start slowly and gradually include exercise into your daily routine at a speed that you can maintain.
A workout plan that includes both cardio and strength training is the most effective way to lose weight and improve body composition. Your body fat percentage is currently higher than it should be due to your overweight status. Cardio and strength training will help you to not only lose weight but to decrease your body fat percentage at the same time that you’re adding muscle. This means that loose skin will not be a problem because your body is adapting slowly to a different size.
I believe both. And makes you appear better when your skin tone improves and you wear smaller, tighter clothes. As your lifestyle improves, you will begin to look healthier. Blood Pressure Improved cardiovascular and cognitive health will increase your alertness.
However, if you ARE overweight, you should absolutely consider making some changes to lose weight. But you should not do this solely for aesthetic reasons. This will happen anyway. Do it for your health.
Also, remember that as you lose weight and get healthy, you will feel happier and more confident in yourself. This can be translated as “looking younger” and considerably more appealing.
To address any skin concerns, simply moisturise frequently and always wear sunscreen.
It depends on why you lost weight. If you choose to adopt a healthier lifestyle that included exercise and nutritious eating, as well as giving up undesirable habits like smoking and drinking alcohol/drugs, you will look younger.
If you were severely ill or embarked on a rapid weight loss program, you would most likely look OLDER since the fat cells beneath your skin begin to shrink rapidly, resulting in extra skin and deeper wrinkles. A little plumpness helps keep the skin looking fresh.
So…Being soft around the edges makes you appear more middle-aged, or as if you’ve already gained the “freshman 15” in college. Being comparably slim gives you the appearance of a growing child, “stretching up before growing in width.”
Teenagers produce more Human Growth Hormone, which promotes lean muscular growth. Furthermore, the average BMI rises steadily between early adolescence and early adulthood.
People are not consciously aware of this; it is just linked to what they connect with youth vs adulthood.
