I’m not really hungry, but I just want to eat something, which is incredibly bothersome because I’m trying to sleep. (Edit: I went to sleep without eating, folks.)
The best bet is to just go to sleep. Or drink the entire water bottle to deceive your brain into thinking you’re full.
I haven’t totally broken this awful habit yet, but I have significantly reduced the frequency of my binges. Drinking diet sodas, having a few hard candies since they take a long time to eat, distracting myself by watching TikToks or working on a project, and simply going to bed early are some of my coping mechanisms. Hope this helps! Good luck, and know that you are not alone!
I do things that make it almost impossible.
Brush, floss, and rinse after the last meal. Get all my water in by 7 p.m. Enter a room apart from the kitchen for the evening. Read Paint my nails. Draw
For me, if I merely watch TV after 9 p.m., my thoughts will go to munchies, and I’ll be in danger.

Have you ever attempted living a ketogenic lifestyle? It helped me tackle binge eating within the first month, drop 122 pounds, and learn about myself and my connection with food for the first time in my life .
I brush my teeth first so I don’t eat. The mouthwash makes me want to avoid snacking.
Consider whether your food is sufficiently satiating. Does it include vegetables, proteins, and carbohydrates? Do you limit your sweets and nibbles throughout the day but feel less restrained at night? If you’re bored, try hands-on activities like colouring books, drawing, knitting, gaming, reading, and so on.
Yeah, I can’t sleep on an empty stomach. I follow an OMAD diet, but sometimes my OMAD dinner doesn’t completely fill me up, I’m not sure why, so some minutes later after my OMAD dinner, I’d need to snack on some pieces of roasted chicken I usually have in the refrigerator just in case I’m too hungry.
Some nights after my OMAD dinner, I would prepare a coffee, which is good and an appetite killer.
Drink water or clean your teeth. If nothing else works, try using a whitening pen on your teeth. You’ll be forced to stop eating for an hour as it settles and you can wash it off. Taking off the crest pen is quite difficult.
(Just sharing what has worked for me), always brush your teeth before going to bed, and I use a nightly retainer every night. Sometimes it’s the simplest things. I hope you have some professional support. 🫶🏼
Drink some water and find anything to occupy myself. For me, it usually comes from boredom or a need to do something with my hands. So now when I watch a show, I use a fidget gadget to keep me ‘active’. Brushing my teeth also helps, as it feels like an extra step to take if I want to eat.
Simply go to bed, lie down, and do not move for 15 minutes, and you will fall asleep despite your hunger. Plus, the less you give in, the fewer your desires will be.
Drink diet soda and coffee with calorie-free diet sugar (splenda or nutrasweet) and coffee creamer. It will regulate your appetite and help you feel wonderful.
