How much weight reduction per week may be expected?

I went to the doctor today and learnt that I weigh 343.7 pounds.

I’ve been hesitant about losing weight and making excuses, but the fact that my jeans don’t fit, my tummy sticks out under my t-shirts and I recently damaged my couch has inspired me.

At this weight, how much weight loss is considered “normal”? I know that normally around 2-3lbs/week is what is considered healthy, and I know that losing weight consistently vs. too fast is more maintainable, so I’m trying to do this as healthy as possible.
If it’s relevant, I intend to follow a carbohydrate-conscious, high-protein nutrition plan, as well as exercise bike and tension band workouts, until I can progress to more intense workouts.

That is largely dependent on how many calories you consume each day. You can safely lose up to 3 pounds per week at your current weight, but 1-2 pounds per week may be more feasible, especially when you’re just getting started.

Unless you’re counting calories, there’s no way to predict how much you’ll lose.

1-2 pounds is regarded normal; if you weigh more, you will most likely lose more at first.

Just make sure your actions feel sustainable. It shouldn’t be so difficult that you despise it, it shouldn’t seem like you’re on a diet till you reach X target, it should simply be a lifestyle change that you can continue with indefinitely.

Just remember to stay persistent and trust the process. It takes a long time to lose weight in a healthy method.

I recommend utilising the app Happy Scale. Weigh every day and get amazing insights on total weight loss and moving averages!

It will come off more faster at first since you are much heavier. Just don’t get disheartened when things slow down and keep doing the right thing. (:
