I’ve been trying to lose weight for a few months, but my progress seems slow and I’m feeling frustrated. I’m unsure if my goals are too ambitious or just not realistic for my current lifestyle. Can someone help me figure out how to set realistic weight loss goals that are achievable and sustainable? What are some strategies or considerations I should keep in mind?
When I was on my weight loss journey, I found it super helpful to set small, manageable goals. Instead of aiming for huge milestones, I broke things down into tiny, achievable steps. Maybe start with a goal like “walk 10 minutes every day” or “swap out one snack for something healthier.” Celebrate those little wins—they add up! And remember, it’s all about progress, not perfection. Adjust as you go and keep it fun…
I set smaller goals for myself. I’ve lost 50 lbs and need to lose 30 more. I take a maintenance break after losing about 10 pounds, for however long I need mentally. It might be a few days or longer, depending on what comes up in life that makes calorie counting more challenging temporarily. Learning to eat at maintenance calories comfortably will help prevent gaining the weight back when life gets stressful.
