I’ve been obese for most of my life, dealing with bedtime and undereating. Due to life circumstances, I gained 40 pounds in less than a year. It’s been two years, and I still haven’t lost it. I’m 190 pounds, 5’6", and 28 years old.
I started a meal plan, and while I can handle breakfast, snacks, and lunch, I’ve never eaten dinner before, and I struggle with it. I’m convinced that if I have a good dinner at night, I won’t be able to lose weight; in reality, I’m eating roughly 1400 calories per day, but the scale keeps rising, which I despise.
When I used to follow a diet, I never ate more than 1200 calories, therefore I can’t trust doctors who force me to consume 1400/1500 calories; I know it’s my eating problem coming in, but it’s difficult. I feel like I am gaining weight. I want to drop 2 pounds per week, but it’s difficult with this calorie consumption.
Not being hungry does not imply that you cannot eat anything. Are you full from eating or snacking recently? If so, perhaps you should stop doing that; your parents have most likely prepared a great lunch for you, and it is unlikely to be healthy or courteous to eat trash right before a meal. Otherwise, eat something, even if it’s only a small amount; you’ll keep the peace and perhaps benefit yourself. If you find the meal completely unattractive, you may be able to respectfully express your displeasure and prepare something simple, quick, and unique for yourself, which will most likely keep your parents off your back.
I hate to say it, but you’re on your road to having an eating disorder. The food you eat converts into the energy required to run your body. If you stop eating, your body will lose the energy it requires to function. When you keep doing this, your body determines which organs to shut down to conserve its limited energy supply. That’s when things become pretty serious. The harm done at this point may be irreversible. In this case, you will be force-fed (via a tube) in the hospital. Eating healthier foods and exercising will help you lose weight. What you are doing now will only make you very sick or worse!
I hope you understand that if you stop eating dinner, lunch, and breakfast, you will become exceedingly sickly and finally die. Nobody genuinely answers the question as it is posed. You may have an eating disorder and should seek professional assistance.
It is clearly unhealthy for you to starve yourself. Even if you’re attempting to lose weight, this is an unsuitable combo.
Seek aid and support. I wish you luck and hope you can find a healthy way to eat without worrying about having to eat anything. Eating disorders can result in mortality or irreversible physiological damage, as well as additional mental baggage that will require treatment.
If you are never hungry and never feel good, you should inform your family so that they can take you to the doctor, as this is not normal. You either have an eating disorder or something is wrong with your body. Nutrition is very important, and you should eat dinner every day. This is why your family expects you to eat with them. It is not normal to skip supper, not to be hungry for dinner, and certainly not to feel ill every day at dinnertime. Visit a doctor!
I’m not sure why you don’t want to eat dinner. But I hope you’re well, and please eat whenever you’re hungry. If you don’t feel like eating yet. You should probably stay in the toilet for as long as possible.
