What constitutes "sustainable" weight loss behaviors, please?

I succeeded for a while, reaching my lowest recorded weight of 160lbs. However, when I left for university, I gained weight. I think about my weight every day, but I struggle with impulse control and bad habits. This may be due to undiagnosed ADHD, but the waiting list for diagnosis and starting medication is currently over two years.

I want to lose weight sustainably this time, as my extreme low-calorie diets and fasting have consistently failed. My plan is to lose 1lb per week by burning 200 calories per day through exercise and creating a 300-calorie deficit from my diet. This is a big step for me since I usually attempt extreme measures like fasting for 48 hours and then following a 1200-calorie diet. I want to do it right and make a long-lasting change.
