My collection is rather plain and full of loose-fitting items because I was overweight and didn’t want my physique to show through in my outfits. Even though I still have work to do, I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished and where my body is, and I’d like to acquire some new clothes/outfits. The only difficulty is that I don’t know where to find nice clothes that aren’t too expensive. What are some of your favourite shopping spots?
In the US, stores such as Marshalls, TJ Maxx, and Burlington offer affordable clothing options. Target is also underrated; you can find decent staples there, such as solid t-shirts, at a fair price. Kohl’s sometimes offer fantastic bargains and great deals on clearance racks.
Old Navy. It has to be my favourite shop, and if you’re lucky enough to live near a big city, big shops are nirvana. I went in lately to grab a new pair of shorts, but all of the nice spring/early summer stuff is out.
Consignment businesses can offer good prices, but what is available varies greatly by area, such as Plato’s closet or My Best Friend’s closet.
I recently discovered online thrifting. I was never the type of person who wanted to shop on Vinted or Poshmark, but there are sites like Sellpy where you don’t have to text with strangers and can return the items. You may also acquire clothes at extremely low prices, which I believe is fantastic when you’re still losing weight.
