I’m generally a lurker on this sub. Over the last three years, I’ve shed approximately 80 pounds. Then, over the last year, things became difficult, and I regained 50 of them. I have rekindled my motivation and have since shed 6 pounds (woo hoo!) But I realise we still have a long way to go. I find it quite beneficial to conserve some calories for a sweet treat in the evenings. However, I am becoming tired of my current go-to (protein ice cream with squirty whipped cream and chocolate chips).
I enjoy cooking and feel like I’ve tried a lot of low-calorie dessert recipes at this point (I can make a mean brownie in a mug), but many of them are quite disappointing! I’d love to know if anyone has any low-calorie dessert recipes that are genuinely tasty.
You can obtain small ice creams that are rather minimal in calories. It’s far easier to control the potion than it is to eat a little dish of ice cream straight from the tub.
I’m not sure if I can have a decent relationship with sweets at this point. My sweet tooth used to rule all of my dietary choices. I don’t think I’d give up my current calorie intake for a sugary sweet. My three meals per day keep me satiated, and it’s easy to sustain my caloric deficit. I don’t think I’d want to trade 200-300 calories of filling foods for 200-300 calories of energy-dense food that doesn’t satisfy me. At least not enough to incorporate it into my normal plans.
Anything can be low in calories if you lower the serving size.
I enjoy Outshine frozen fruit bars. The ones I get are around 40 calories each.
The Unreal brand offers individually wrapped chocolate candies. Calories range from about 70 to 150 per piece/serving, depending on the variety. This could be done with fun-sized candy bars.
I just buy sugar-free custard from the grocery store and top it with sugar-free cool whip. You can eat two for 120 calories, and it’s quite nice.
I truly adore the Yasso Greek yoghurt bars. Most of them include 100 calories. The mint chip, cookie dough, and salted caramel are all delicious.
