Losing weight and getting tattoos

Does anyone have any pictures that compare their tattoos from before and after they lost weight?

Since they’re all on my lower arms or legs, they shouldn’t change much as I shed pounds. But eventually, I’d like to get a sternum, upper thigh, and half sleeve tattooed! I don’t want to put them off until I’m completely satisfied with my fitness and weight loss objectives, but I also don’t want to spend a lot of money on gorgeous tattoos that will eventually be “ruined” because I put off getting them.

I’m 5’3 and now weigh about 155 pounds, but I want to drop down to about 115.

I’m grateful in ahead! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I am making good progress and have recently lost 30 pounds, with 30 more to go before I update again. My tattoos still look great, but I’m concerned about my inner arm. It was quite stretched out, and I’m worried about how it will fare as I lose the next 30 pounds.

The appearance of tattoos largely depends on how much weight you lose and where on your body the tattoos are located. My tattoos have remained the same despite changes in my weight, which has ranged from 125 to 185 pounds. If you are losing a significant amount of weight, it’s advisable to exercise during the process. For example, a formerly obese individual I saw, who lost weight and developed defined muscles, found that tattoos remained visible, though they might shift slightly with extreme weight changes. Skin stretches and contracts, so tattoos generally retain their appearance unless you develop stretch marks, in which case you might need touch-ups.

Yeah, right…? Personally, I’ve had two pregnancies, and my tattoos changed with my weight. They stretched when I gained weight and returned to their original size when I lost weight. You really shouldn’t be worried sis, go get the ink.
