Guess what? I discovered shrimp! I got a bag of frozen Argentinian shrimp at TJ’s and was amazed to find out that 6 big ones equal just 60 calories and pack in 14g of protein. What a ratio!
Yesterday, I defrosted a few, cooked them in a pan with some spray oil and seasoning, then added them to half a quesadilla. It was delicious and a refreshing change from the usual chicken breast.
Plus, shrimp are way easier and quicker to cook than chicken breast, and they freeze much better.
I think I’ll start using shrimp in a lot of my rice-based dishes from now on.
I think shrimp may be a more expensive alternative to chicken breast. In terms of fat content, shrimps are low in saturated fat. So you’re less likely to have an increased risk of heart disease.
While Shrimps are high in dietary cholesterol which is very different from blood cholesterol, they have low fat content which is great for weight loss.
You could also try skinless chicken breast if you’re after low-fat content.
Shrimp are a delicious, convenient, and very healthy kind of protein. They provide a high-protein, low-calorie alternative that makes making meals easier and freezes well.
