Should you do cardio before or after lifting weights?

Hello! I understand your dilemma. The decision to do cardio before or after lifting can depend on your specific goals and preferences. Doing cardio before lifting can help get your heart rate up and may assist in fat burning. However, some argue that starting with lifting weights can help build muscle, which can in turn boost metabolism and aid in weight loss.

Since you’re restarting at the gym, it might be beneficial to start with a warm-up before lifting weights to prepare your muscles and joints for the workout. This could be a light cardio activity or dynamic stretches. After your weightlifting session, you can then do your main cardio workout.

Ultimately, the most important thing is to find a routine that you enjoy and can stick to consistently. Both approaches can be effective, so it might be worth trying each method for a few weeks to see how your body responds.

If you want to increase your endurance, do cardio before weights. If you want to build muscle strength, do weights before cardio. If you want to improve your overall fitness, you can do either cardio or weights first.

I lift weights first. Then I decide to lift weights for 30 minutes longer instead of cardio.

There’s no one-size-fits-all answer. You can experiment and see what works best for you. If you do cardio before weights, keep it light (5-10 minutes) to avoid fatigue.

Yeah that’s very much spot on
