I’m on a 1300 calorie diet right now. Not the fun kind with Snickers and fries, but more like chicken breasts, broccoli, and green beans. I even allow myself small amounts of cheese and butter, kinda keto with some apples tossed in. So, I lost 1 lb in the first week, but now I’m up 1/2 pound… what the heck? I’m currently 168 lbs at 5’2". My lowest was 150 and my highest was 200. Just to clarify, I’m 50 years old, not some 20-year-old complaining about needing to lose 5 lbs. I’ve dealt with my weight forever. The worst was 230 lbs when I was 9 months pregnant, but I don’t count that, lol. I’m also a type 2 diabetic, and my blood sugar has been stable since I started this diet. I take Ozempic after trying insulin for a while. I’ve been on it for almost a year now, so that’s not really a big deal. Also, since I’m a stroke survivor, I can’t do intense exercise. The most I can handle is low-stress bursts of about 15 minutes. I’m grateful I can still walk and talk, though.
It’s frustrating when the scale doesn’t budge. Have you considered tracking your macros?
You’re doing great. Have you tried adding some light activities, like short walks? It might help with your progress.
I hear you about the weight struggle. It can be so discouraging, but hang in there.
Have you checked if you’re retaining water? That can mess with the scale too.
Keep going. It’s a marathon, not a sprint. You got this.
