I’ve noticed weight fluctuations during my menstrual cycle and am curious about the causes and management strategies. Can anyone explain why menstrual weight gain occurs and share tips on how to effectively manage it?
Menstrual weight gain is common due to hormonal changes that cause water retention, bloating, and cravings. To manage it, stay hydrated, eat balanced meals, cut back on salt and sugar, and keep active with gentle exercise like yoga or walking. Tracking your cycle can also help you anticipate and handle these fluctuations better.
Stay positive sis… Personally, I am currently experiencing this on day 20 of my cycle, additionally, I’m so bloated that I can only wear elastic waistbands. I have been trying to be kind to myself since it’s not my fault. I think it’s coz progesterone, which is high at this point in my cycle, makes me retain water and slows down digestion to prepare for a possible pregnancy. It’s still really frustrating. However, my gynaecologist made me understand that it’s normal and we should embrace the feminine body and just let it be it.
