Why do some people who are bigger than me have a flat stomach while I do not?

My bones show, but my stomach is enormous. When I look at other individuals, their tummies are flat, however mine sticks out. Does anyone know why? Do I need to shed more weight, or what?

I don’t think you should lose weight. Core strength, genetics or hormones, and diet. There are a lot of factors. I believe you should consider your eating habits; perhaps you are bloating? Flex and feel your tummy to see how strong it is. A weak core can often impact a person’s posture. Have you had children? This can weaken the core and create diastasis recti (ab separation). Maybe consult with a doctor, especially since you mention being underweight; it could be a health issue.

Your fat cells are genetically programmed in sections of your body over which you have no control, and hormones decide where the fat is stored. Some people store in their lower bodies, while others store in their stomachs, limbs, necks, and faces.

Are you a female or male? Because if you are a woman, it could be endometriosis, and seeing what is in your womb and having it removed will resolve the issue. If you are a man, then I might be your diet. This may also be true if you do not have a growth in your womb as a woman. Malnutrition seems to have this effect. People refuse to believe it, yet veggies are crucial.

Bloating in the stomach can be caused by the gut flora or general health. I’ve noticed that when I eat poorly, my tummy hangs in an odd ass way (the region above my belly button droops), but when I eat low-normal carb or low FODMAP, I get a much flatter stomach while reducing bloat/water weight.

Basically, if your body is used to particular types of food, it will experience less inflammation and bloating while processing it. So, even though they’re bigger, they could be (over)eating healthier stuff, or their bodies just metabolise food differently than yours. Try eating less than 100-150g carbs and more protein for a week to see if it works for you.

It is possible that the transverse abdominal muscles are weak. Go to YouTube and do those mommy, post-natal ab workouts. If nothing else, they will help you develop a strong core, which can’t hurt and may help.

I know a stunning, trim, fit, and healthy woman with a natural pregnancy bump. I believe she looks great and beautiful. I don’t check to see if it’s flat there. I think she’s incredibly stunning. As we all should perceive themselves.

Everyone’s fat distribution differs. I lost first my fingers, legs, and bum. Stomach and chest will take longer.

Perform a Google search for “dysbiosis,” “bloat,” and “SIBO”. You may not be receiving enough variety and fibre in your diet. Many people find that switching to a whole-foods, high-fiber diet (plenty of vegetables and legumes, no processed foods) relieves their bloating and inflammation. Mine did.

It could be bloating or water weight. it’s my difficulty every day, and I’m a male. I’m not sure how much it matters, but I’ve always known that those are bigger challenges for women. If it weren’t for these factors, I’d probably be comfortable without a shirt at the beach or pool.

hi. I have a plump but flat stomach… there are many explanations, but not for me. I’m large because of insulin resistance. I don’t overeat, which is why my tummy is flat.

My sister, on the other hand, eats excessively and is constantly bloated. But she isn’t overweight. You might wish to eat slowly and limit your soda consumption. If this does not work. Perhaps that’s how your body is.

I am on the heavier side, but I still have an hourglass form. My sister is only 5’3 and weighs 50kg, however she does not have an hourglass body. Everyone’s body is unique.

They engage in strength training.

For the most part, genetics is a convenient excuse. My entire family is “apple shaped”, therefore either I’m adopted…or I strength train to increase my muscle mass percentage.

You can’t compare yourself to others; it’ll be your worst enemy. If you’re worried about your stomach, you can target it with specific exercises. But honestly, I think that keeping your lifestyle (diet and activity) constant, appealing, rewarding, fun, and so on delivers the best results.

Body composition. You don’t have to lose weight (there isn’t enough context), but you may need to gain muscle, also known as lean body mass. This might increase your overall weight, but muscular tone has a significant impact on looks. I’m roughly 10-15 pounds heavier than my lowest weight, but I’m more toned and fit than before thanks to my increased muscular mass. Weight training works wonders. Again, you may need to trim some fat. However, many people who feel this way are “skinny fat” and have low muscular tone, as I previously mentioned.
